September 22

Harvest begins...started cutting soybeans today. It makes for quick work of a 40 acre field when you put 3 combines in it.

September 2014

It has been a busy summer. The weather has been very nice. We have had plenty of rain in august and haven't had a lot of heat this summer.

6/17

Spent some time with dad this week assessing the damage from all the rains. Some of our farms have had 9 inches of rain since they were planted.  Daisy (9) and Carter (5) wanted their pics taken with the corn. This week the Temps warmed back up and that has helped the crops take off with all the moisture we have.

6/13

This past week we have received a lot more rain. The higher ground or fields with good drainage are looking really good. When it drys up we will be replanting some beans. Some of the corn fields might get some beans planted in the wet spots.

Mother nature gave us another 2" of rain this morning. On our Harrison farm our water way is doing its job.

5/20

Hauling some more corn today.  I couldn't be happier working with my dad cleaning out grain bins. It's good to be back on the farm.

5/19

Going to enjoy warmer temps this week after last weeks lows down to 30's and highs of 50's. It also rained about 2 inches last week.  We recieved a little frost in a low area of a field I checked today. See pic below.

May 14

Have 2 fields left of beans and Mother Nature won't cooperate so we will get some of last years corn to the mill. We produce food grade corn for Cargill. This corn is used by food manufacturers for  corn flour, corn grits, corn meal, whole grain products, corn bran and more.

May 10

Got a nice shower Thursday night May 8th. Most of the farm got 0.4" of rain. Warm temps are really helping the crop. We have around 111 acres soybeans to plant to finish.
